Firefighters and staff from Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) hosted a successful female fitness event at Weston Fire Station on 17 March, as part of celebrations for International Women’s Day 2024.
The event saw local women attend the fire station for an interactive morning of fun, fitness and the chance to learn more about the varied work of the Fire Service.
Organiser Firefighter Kayley Spencer said: “As a female in the Fire Service, I feel that it’s vitally important for other women to know that there could be a viable career for them here.
“This event was a great opportunity for local women to come together and enjoy a fitness session whilst learning more about the work that we do. On behalf of myself and the team, I’d like to say a big thanks to all those who attended and all the staff who supported the event.”
