Last week (4 June) we proudly welcomed 15 new Wholetime Firefighters to Avon Fire & Rescue Service, following the successful completion of a demanding 14‑week training course. Over this period, they mastered core operational skills including firefighting, search and rescue, and RTC training and completed ten rigorous assessments that demonstrate their readiness for the role.
This achievement reflects exceptional commitment, resilience and teamwork. From developing technical competence to building confidence in real world scenarios, each firefighter has shown the professionalism and determination that define our Service.
A huge thank you goes to our Training Centre instructors at Severn Park and everyone who supported the cohort throughout their journey.
