Two weeks left to have your say on future fire and rescue plans.

Avon Fire & Rescue Service is reminding people across the area that there are just two weeks left to have their say on the risks that matter most to their communities.

The consultation closes on Tuesday 29 September and is helping the Service develop its next Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), which will set out how it plans to prevent, protect against and respond to risks between 2028 and 2033. 

The survey is open to anyone who lives, works, studies or travels across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. 

People are being asked what risks they are most concerned about, including familiar risks such as fires and road traffic collisions, as well as emerging issues such as flooding, water safety, e-bike and lithium-ion battery fires, and supporting vulnerable people. 

Area Manager Steve Quinton from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, said: “There are just two weeks left for people to tell us what risks they are concerned about and what they think we should be considering as we plan for the future. 

“We want to hear from as many people as possible because the risks facing our communities can vary considerably. Your views will help us build a better understanding of those risks alongside our operational data and professional knowledge. 

“If you haven’t taken part yet, please take a few minutes to complete the survey before it closes on 29 September.” 

The responses will be analysed during October and will help inform the next stage of developing the new Community Risk Management Plan. 

Further opportunities for people to have their say will follow, including consultation on the Service’s finances and draft objectives for the plan.
