Hicks Gate to host charity car wash to support two important causes

On Saturday 13 April Hicks Gate Fire Station will open its doors for a charity car wash event from 10am until 4pm, benefitting The Fire Fighters' Charity and Gambia and Avon Fire Services' in Partnership (GAFSIP).

Firefighters and staff will be equipped with buckets, sponges and hoses, ready to wash cars from 10am until 4pm at Hicks Gate Fire Station, located on Durley Hill, Bristol, BS31 2AF. Donations will be gratefully accepted on the day in cash.

The event aims to raise important funds for a training trip of firefighters and staff to travel to Gambia to deliver much-needed life-saving skills to Gambia Fire and Rescue Service, with proceeds going to supporting the Gambia and Avon Fire Services Partnership, fostering collaboration and international support to increase fire safety across the Gambia. The car wash will also raise important funds for the Fire Fighters Charity, a vital organisation in the UK, providing services and treatment to serving and retired members of UK fire and rescue services.

Lead fundraiser and firefighter, Dave Pollard, expressed enthusiasm for the event: “We’re really pleased to be running yet another charity car wash to support two very important causes. We hope local people will enjoy coming down to the station, getting their cars cleaned and raising some all-important funds.”

We invite local people, and visitors to the area, to join us on Saturday 13 April to enjoy a cleaner car while raising vital funds for these worthy cases.
