In an emergency always call 999
Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) is supporting Gas Safety Week 2024, we want to remind you about the importance of staying gas safe. Running from 9th to 15th September, this year’s theme is “Checking—Every Check Counts”, highlighting the need for regular safety checks on gas appliances to prevent dangerous leaks, fires, and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
The week encourages homeowners and tenants to conduct simple checks, such as ensuring gas appliances have been safety checked by a registered engineer, looking for warning signs like orange flames or excess condensation, and regularly testing carbon monoxide alarms.
Gas safety is crucial for protecting your home and loved ones. No matter how small, every check counts in keeping our community safe
