A commitment to community safety

Our Community Risk Management Plan highlights our commitment to improving community safety through fire prevention, risk reduction, and effective emergency response. It sets out initiatives to address emerging risks and strategies to prevent incidents before they happen.

Chief Fire Officer Matt Cook said: “Our primary aim is to keep communities safe, by preventing fires through education, protecting you in your homes and workplaces, and responding swiftly and effectively when incidents occur.

“We are now two years into our four-year plan, and your views on our objectives are more important than ever. This survey is your chance to make your voice heard.

“The safety of our communities remains our top priority, and we are committed to working with local people, partners, and staff to deliver the best possible service.”

Why get involved?

This survey gives you the opportunity to influence how your fire and rescue service operates over the next four years. You can share your views on key areas of our work, including how we allocate resources, our emergency response strategies, and how we engage with the communities we serve.

Paul Goggin, Chair of Avon Fire Authority, added: “Community input is vital in shaping the future of Avon Fire & Rescue Service. We encourage anyone with ideas on improving services to share their opinions.

“The Authority’s role is to ensure the Service meets the needs and expectations of local people and businesses while using available resources as effectively and efficiently as possible.

“We can only achieve this by listening to you. I urge everyone to learn more about our priorities for tackling risk across the area and to share their views by taking part in this survey.”

The survey will be open for six-weeks, it will close on Monday 9 February at 17:00.
