In an emergency always call 999
Crews at Temple Fire Station were recently treated to a home-cooked meal from local favourite Big Nath’s BBQ, in a gesture of thanks and support for the firefighters’ continued service to the community.
Big Nath, well-known across Bristol’s street food scene, prepared his signature chilli for the watch during a visit to the station on a sunny evening. The informal event offered firefighters a chance to relax and refuel between callouts — all while staying operational and ready to respond.
“It was great to come down and cook for the team,” said Nath. “They’ve supported us since the early days of the business, so it felt good to give something back.”
The visit comes as Big Nath prepares to open his first permanent shop in Bristol — an exciting milestone for the growing business. Despite the busy lead-up to launch, Nath, Kins and of course Pickle (the dog) made time to personally deliver and serve the meal as a thank you to the team.
The gesture was warmly received by the crew, who appreciated the opportunity to share a meal together and enjoy a moment of downtime.
“We’re always grateful when members of the public and local businesses take the time to recognise the work of our crews. Moments like these mean a great deal to the team and help strengthen our connection with the communities we serve.”

Big Nath’s BBQ continues to grow its following across Bristol and is a fan favourite among AF&RS firefighters.
