Response to Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 2 Report

Following the publication of the Grenfell Tower Fire Inquiry Phase 2 Report, Avon Fire and Rescue Service Area Manager for Prevention and Protection, Steve Quinton, said:

“Today, we received the Phase 2 report of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, which we are currently reviewing with the utmost attention and care.

“Our thoughts remain with the families, survivors and all those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, as we also honour the incredible selflessness and bravery of the firefighters, emergency services personnel, and local community members who responded, confronting unimaginable horrors.

“The scale of this tragedy has profoundly impacted our approach to fire safety and reinforced our commitment to ensuring the safety of those living in our community.

“The findings and recommendations contained within this report are of critical importance, as we begin to fully understand the implications of the report, our priority will be to align our actions with its recommendations.

“Since 2017, the Grenfell Tower Fire has been a catalyst for change across the country, and we are committed to learning from this tragedy. We will thoroughly review the recommendations, dedicating our complete focus to them.”
