Local Government Associations (LGA) National fire conference event success

Last week we successfully supported the annual Local Government Associations (LGA) National Fire Conference held at the Delta Bristol Marriot Hotel.

As the host Service, we coordinated an exhibition stand on contaminants and our decontamination procedures. The stand provided attendees with the opportunity to ask ours experts questions relating to contamination, helping them to gain an understanding of what we’re doing as a Service to protect our staff.

Attendees, which included senior fire officers, and authority members from across the country, were able to to meet and discuss developments impacting the fire and rescue sector throughout the two day event, and were able to attend various workshops and seminars.

Area Manager Luke Gazzard spoke at the event about contaminants and the impact they have on the fire and rescue service. Overall, the event was a huge success, however this wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable help of our volunteers.

We’d also like to give a special mention to Temple and Southmead blue watch who attended, showed people around the trucks and networked with the attendees, they represented the service amazingly.
