Celebrating our staff at the Meritorious Service Awards

This month, we celebrated the Meritorious Service Awards which took place at the Aerospace Museum in Patchway.

The event celebrated everything from Long Service Awards to Chief Fire Officer Commendations, Community Safer Award, and Contribution to Charitable Events.

At the event we were joined by Robert Bourns, The Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Bristol who proudly presented the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal on behalf of His Majesty the King and the late Her Majesty the Queen. Chief Fire Officer Simon Shilton presented his Chief Fire Officer’s Commendations as well as awards for our Values Champions to the much deserving winners.

It was an excellent event, and it was wonderful to see so many staff celebrating well-deserved awards with their loved ones.

Shortlisted award nominees

We sought nominations for the Community Safer Award, Contribution to Charitable Events and our Values Champion Award and those shortlisted have been invited to attend. A tremendous number of nominations were received. People from across the Service were nominated by their colleagues who believed they deserved recognition for their fantastic achievements and outstanding contributions, whether as individuals or groups.  The standard of nominations were extremely high which made shortlisting finalists a touch decision.
