Avon Fire & Rescue Service is proud to announce that the crews at Avonmouth Fire Station have been recognised for their outstanding service to the community by the High Sheriff of the City of Bristol, Reverend Richard Pendlebury MBE DL.
In a special visit on Monday, 2 December, the High Sheriff presented the station with a certificate acknowledging the “great and valuable services to the community.” The award highlights the unwavering dedication and professionalism of the crews at Avonmouth in safeguarding the lives and wellbeing of the people they serve.
Chief Fire Officer Simon Shilton attended the presentation, he said: “It’s fantastic to see the crews at Avonmouth recognised for their hard work and commitment to keeping their communities safe. During a recent incident involving a rescuing a person in need, the High Sheriff of the City of Bristol witnessed firsthand the care and compassion of crews when helping someone. Well done to everyone at the station.”
The High Sheriff of Bristol, Reverend Richard Pendlebury said: “Simon, Blue Watch and the Avon Mouth Team were wonderful ambassadors for the Fire Service. A huge thank you for giving me so much of your valuable time”
The recognition reflects not only the bravery and skill of the Avonmouth crews but also their compassion and care in times of crisis. The Service is proud to have such dedicated individuals and is deeply grateful for the High Sheriff’s award.
