In an emergency always call 999
We are delighted to announce the graduation of two new Fire Control Operators who will be the calm and reassuring voices on the other end of the line if you need to call 999. After completing a rigorous training programme, Chloe and Alistair are now fully prepared to serve their communities.
The graduates have successfully completed a challenging and comprehensive training journey starting with a 12-week introductory course. They will now undergo f two years of self-study, four phased exams, and a final assessment. Their dedication and hard work have earned them their place as key members of our Fire Control Team.
A special graduation ceremony was held at Fire Control in Lansdown on Friday 29 November, where the graduates were joined by proud family and friends. The event featured a presentation of certificates and awards to honour their achievements, followed by a tour of the Control Room, giving guests an insight into the vital work carried out behind the scenes.
As Firefighter Control Operators, they will play a critical role in ensuring swift and effective responses to emergencies. From handling 999 calls to mobilising crews and resources, their calm professionalism and expertise will help save lives and protect communities across the region.
Group Manager for Fire Control, Catherine Withers, said: “We are incredibly proud to welcome our two newest Firefighter Control Operators to the team.
