Crews respond to fire at industrial unit

Dean Road, Yate

We were called at 04:03 to reports of smoke issuing from an industrial unit.

On arrival, crews from Yate, Kingswood, Patchway, Temple, Southmead, Bedminster, Hicks Gate, Avonmouth and Portishead found a workshop within the industrial unit well alight. Firefighters used four 45mm jets and two high pressure hose reels to extinguish the blaze. Six firefighters wore breathing apparatus for safety and our drone was also in use. 

There were fortunately no casualties.

Following an investigation, the cause of the fire is thought to have been accidental ignition.
