Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a driver following a two vehicle road traffic collision.

A crew from Yate were called to the incident which involved a Rover Metro and a Honda Civic. The driver of the Honda, thought to be aged in his 20s, had got out of his car unaided before firefighters arrived.

The driver of the second vehicle however had to be cut free from his car. Firefighters removed the driver's door so the man in his 40s could be rescued. He was conveyed to hospital as a precaution due to suspected neck injuries.
