Two rescued following RTC

Westerleigh Road, Pucklechurch

Two drivers had to be cut out of their cars by fire crews after their vehicles were involved in a collision in Pucklechurch.

The male and female drivers, both thought to be in their 30s, were the only occupants in the vehicles.

With the male believed to be suffering from suspected spinal injuries, firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof and door. Working with paramedics, firefighters then carried him out on a spinal board.

The female was thought to have a broken leg and suspected spinal injuries and so crews removed a door of the vehicle, enabling paramedics to place her onto a back board and help her out of the car.

Both were then taken to hospital. The road was closed during the incident by police.
