Crews from Patchway, Southmead, Avonmouth, Temple, Kingswood and Portishead fire stations were called to a fire in a school.
On arrival, firefighters discovered a fire that had started externally and spread into the main building.
Four fighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure hose reel and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.
They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
The cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate.
