Dog given oxygen therapy

Copp Cottage, Westerleigh

A dog was given oxygen therapy by firefighters following a kitchen fire.

Two crews from Yate and one from Kingswood fire stations were called to the residential property.

Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used two high-pressure hose reels and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.

They then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.

One male casualty was treated by paramedics and one cat was sadly deceased.

The cause is thought to be accidental.
