Crews called to school fire

Gloucester Road, Thornbury

Crews from Thornbury, Patchway, Avonmouth and Kingswood fire stations were called to a portable cabin fire in the rear of the sixth form of Castle School.  

Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure hose reel and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots, before damping down the area.  

Police were also in attendance and the cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate.
