Large warehouse fire in Yate

Waverley Road, Yate 

Fire crews from Yate, Kingswood, Temple, Thornbury, Portishead and Bedminster fire stations were called to a large fire in a warehouse measuring approximately 30m x 30m, used as a pet supply store. 

The warehouse was evacuated and crews in breathing apparatus used jets and high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire.

A number of crews remain at the scene this morning (Wednesday 25 October) and are using four high pressure hose reels from the turntable ladder to continue to extinguish the fire.

Thermal imaging cameras are in use to monitor hot spots on the buildiing

A cordon remains in place around the incident and Waverley Road and part of Lawrence Drive are closed. People travelling around the area are advised to expect delays.
