Horse rescued from trailer in Tytherington

Firefighters have rescued a horse which because trapped in a horse box.

Crews from Thornbury Fire Station were joined by colleagues trained in animal rescue from Bedminster Fire Station at the incident in Tytherington.

A vet attended the scene who sedated ‘Slim’ before firefighters worked to free him from the trailer. Fire crews used cutting equipment to create access to the horse box before rescuing Slim from inside using strops.

Once freed he was able to stand and left in the care of vet.
