Mini bus fire in Thornbury

Rock Street, Thornbury

Fire crews were called to a fire involving a Mercedes mini bus on Rock Street in Thornbury and when crews arrived the vehicle was well alight.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two high pressure hose reels to tackle the fire.

Three crews attended the incident from Southmead and Avonmouth and RDS Thornbury.

The male driver of the vehicle was uninjured and there were no other passengers.

The fire is thought to have started accidentally.

More than half of all fires in the home are caused by cooking accidents.
