Firefighters assist with RTC rescue

Wickwar Road, Chipping Sodbury

A driver was given first aid by firefighters after his vehicle left the road and hit some trees.

When crews arrived they found one car involved and one person hurt. They had been rescued by a passer-by.

Working with paramedics and a doctor at the scene, crews assisted with trauma care and the person was taken to hospital.

About 400 people a year die in accidental fires in the home.
