Crews called to fire involving oven

Shackleton Avenue, Yate

Firefighters have tackled a fire affecting the kitchen of a house in Yate.

Crews were called to the two storey house following reports of a fire involving an oven.

Once on scene two firefighters in breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose reel and a CO2 extinguisher to put out the fire. Damage was caused to oven and kitchen unit in the immediate vicinity.

One man was in the house at the time of the fire, but he was not injured. The fire is thought the fire started accidentally.
