Man given oxygen therapy after fire

Firefighters have given a man oxygen therapy after a fire in his home.

When crews arrived they found a fire affecting the stairway and hall of the house.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using one high pressure hose reel.

The stairway and hall were badly damaged by fire and the rest of the property was affected by smoke.

The man, thought to be in his 30s, was not taken to hospital.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to get underway today.

Candles cause more than five fires a day.
