Firefighters rescued a man from a flat fire.
When crews arrived on the scene two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and found a man in his 20s. They assisted him to safety and he was given oxygen by firefighters for the effects of breathing in smoke. He was then taken to hospital.
Crews tackled the fire using a high pressure hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke.
It’s thought the fire started accidentally after cooking was left unattended.
Avon Fire & Rescue Service would like to remind people to take care when cooking. Never leave it unattended and always switch off all appliances after use as it could lead to fire breaking out.
