With Children’s Mental Health Week falling between 5-11 February this year, Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) are marking the occasion with an interactive wellbeing event for all the family on Sunday (11).
The event, hosted at Weston Fire Station, brings together AF&RS’ firefighters and expert Children and Young People team, local organisations and representatives from national charities. Event access is free and throughout the day, children and their families will be able to learn more about aspects of their wellbeing and take part in exciting activities.
Youth Intervention Lead Emily Cook said: “We are really looking forward to our first major event of the year. The theme for Children’s Mental Health Week is ‘My Voice Matters’ and as a Service we truly believe it is invaluable to give a voice to the community.
“We are bringing together families and local mental health services to build connections between the two. On top of this there will be a range of healthy refreshments to try, opportunities for physical exercise and an exciting appearance from FIDO the fire dog. Please come down and see us on the day!”
In attendance at the event will be:
The Coast Guard
Harmony Rain Holistic Therapy
The Jack Hazeldene Foundation
- Locking Primary School
- North Somerset Family Intervention
- Princes’ Trust
