Former Barrow Gurney Hospital site, Wildcountry Lane, Barrow Gurney
Firefighters spent the night tackling a well-developed fire in three derelict buildings on the former Barrow Gurney Hospital site.
The call came into the AF&RS Control room after a plane attempting to land at Bristol International Airport saw the flames.
When crews arrived on scene they found the buildings well alight.
Using five jets, on high pressure hose reel and monitoring jet, crews remained on the scene for much of the night damping down.
It’s thought the fire started deliberately.
