Eastfield Park, Weston-super-Mare
17 people were evacuated from a residential home after a fire in a ground floor lounge.
When firefighters arrived they found all 11 residents and six staff already out of the premises.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the premises and using two high pressure hose reels they extinguished the fire.
A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke.
It’s thought the fire started accidentally after a fault with an electrical fan.
Fortunately no one was hurt.
Avon Fire & Rescue Service would like to remind people to take care when using electrical items and to always switch off appliances which don’t need to be left on.
