Firefighters have dealt with a fire in a fish and chip shop.
When crews arrived on the scene they found smoke issuing from the two storey building and a fire on the ground floor.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the premises and tackled the fire using two high pressure hose reels and one 45mm jet. A thermal imaging camera was then used to check for hotspots once the fire was out and crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the premises.
Fortunately no one was hurt.
It’s thought the fire started accidentally in one of the fryers and spread into the ceiling via the ducting. Crews had to remove a number of the ceiling tiles to ensure the fire was fully out.
While at the premises crews also fitted a number of smoke detectors in the flat upstairs as part of a Home Fire Safety Visit.
