Firefighters cut driver free from RTC

M5 southbound junctions 21 to 22

A driver has been cut from his vehicle following a road traffic collision on the motorway.

Two vehicles were involved in the incident, but the driver of a Toyota Prius was already out when firefighters arrived and unharmed.

The driver of a BMW was trapped inside the vehicle, so using hydraulic cutting equipment firefighters removed the rear passenger and driver’s doors, along with the roof.

Working alongside paramedics, the man, who was in his 20s, was assisted on to a spinal board and taken to hospital with suspected back and abdominal injuries.
