Bridgwater Road, Winscombe
Three people have been taken to hospital after a road traffic collision.
On arrival at the scene firefighters found a 4x4 type vehicle on its roof and two other smaller cars involved.
A woman in her 40s, who was in one of the smaller vehicles, was trapped and firefighters quickly stabilised the vehicle before using hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car. Working with paramedics, firefighters then assisted the woman on to a spinal board and she was taken to hospital suffering from suspected neck injuries.
Two other women, both in their 20s, were also involved, although they were already out of the vehicles when crews arrived. Firefighters gave them first aid at the scene and they were both taken to hospital by ambulance.
