Three people escaped with only minor injuries after a dramatic road traffic collision.

Fire engines from Paulton, Radstock and Temple fire stations, along with the rescue tender from Temple, were called to the incident which involved two cars.

On arrival firefighters found one vehicle on its roof, with the male and female occupant trapped inside. Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove door pillars so that the female, who had ended up with her head and shoulders through the window, could be freed. The male was also freed using cutting equipment. The pair who were aged in their 20s suffered only minor injuries, but both were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The second vehicle finished on its side, trapping the driver. Firefighters stabilised his vehicle before assisting the man in his 50s through a passenger window. He suffered only minor injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
