Three crews from Weston-super-Mare fire station were called to a fire in the kitchen area on the ground floor of a large domestic property.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire, a thermal image camera to check for hotspots and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke.
All occupants within the property were accounted for and one casualty was treated with a trauma pack before being handed over to ambulance colleagues.
The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
