Rubbish fire affects commercial property

Crews from Weston-super-Mare fire station were called to a rubbish fire that was affecting the rear of a commercial property.

Firefighters used one high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire and a small gear to gain access to the property.

They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.

Police were also in attendance and the cause is thought to be deliberate.

More than half of all fires in the home are caused by cooking accidents.
