Lorry fire involving gas cylinders at Weston College

Weston College, Locking Road, Weston-super-Mare

Firefighters were called to a small fire on a lorry carrying acetylene and oxygen cylinders.

A cordon was put around the incident and the fire was tackled using unmanned hoses.

Around 40 people were evacuated from the college and surrounding industrial units.

Three crews attended the incident from Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon.

Crews were on scene until 18:30 cooling cylinders before leaving the scene in the hands of the site managers.
