Fire at public house investigated

Drove Road, Weston-super-Mare

Fireifghters were called to deal with a fire in a smoking area next to a public house.

When crews arrived on scene they found the blaze affecting the wooden structure and spreading to the window of the public house.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose reel and a 45mm jet to put the fire out.

An investigation into the cause of the fire found it was started deliberately.

Faulty electrical appliances, wiring and overloaded sockets cause around 7,000 fires in the home every year in the UK.
