Family rescued after car sinks in mud

A family of five were rescued by firefighters after their vehicle got stuck in mud on Uphill Beach.
When crews from Weston-super-Mare Fire Station arrived on scene they launched the Service’s hovercraft to get out to the vehicle. Two adults and three children, aged five, eight and eight months, were assisted to safety by crews from the hovercraft who walked them to dry land.
The incident was left in the hands of police to retrieve the vehicle.
