Man rescued from second storey roof

Union Street, Weston-super-Mare

Firefighters have rescued a man who appeared to have fallen and fractured his legs while on a second storey flat roof.

When crews arrived on scene they found the man approximately five metres up.

Firefighters were able to access the roof using the turntable ladder and they gave the man first aid. A paramedic was then lifted up on to the roof to assess the man.

Firefighters and paramedics assisted the man on to a spinal board and he was lowered to the ground using the turntable ladder. He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
