Severe damage was caused to the first floor of a terraced house when fire broke out during the morning.
Three fire engines from Nailsea and Yatton fire stations were sent to the scene after neighbours reported smoke coming from the property. As the house was unoccupied fire crews forced entry by breaking down the front door.
In total four firefighters wearing breathing entered the house and used two high pressure hose reels to bring the blaze under control. The fire caused severe damage to a first floor bedroom as well as fire and smoke damage to the rest of the floor.
As the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated.
