Firefighters rescued two people following a road traffic collision involving a car and a van.
When firefighters arrived at the scene they found two vehicles involved, an Audi car and a Peugeot van.
A woman, thought to be in her 30s, was trapped in the Audi, so after an assessment by ambulance crews, she was assisted from the vehicle by firefighters. It’s thought she was suffering from a broken wrist and was taken to hospital.
A man, also thought to be in his 30s, was trapped in the van, with suspected spinal injuries. Using hydraulic cutting equipment firefighters removed the side posts of the vehicle and the man was assisted on to a spinal board. He was taken to hospital, but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
The road was closed while the incident was ongoing.
