Crews have tackled a fire involving agricultural buildings.
Four fire engines were called to the fire at a barn containing a large amount of hay as well as farm equipment. Firefighters from Clevedon, Nailsea, and Portishead were in the inital attendance of crews working to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used jets and unmanned monitor jets to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to other nearby buildings. As a precaution farm staff moved 60 calves to safety from a second barn adjacent to the fire.
Relief crews remained on scene until 22.30hrs damping down. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
