Crews deal with car fire following collision

Milton Road, Weston-super-Mare

Two people were taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in collided with a tree and caught fire.

Crews from Weston-super-Mare Fire Station were called to the scene where they found a man and woman, both aged in their 20s, had managed to free themselves from the car.

The Peugeot had collided with a tree causing a fire to break out at the front of the vehicle. A firefighter in breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using a high pressure hose reel.

Firefighters then assisted paramedics in providing first aid to the two people, before they were taken to hospital by ambulance.
