Six people assisted from RTC

Road traffic collisionFirefighters have assisted six people to safety following a road traffic collision.

On arrival crews found two vehicles involved - a black cab taxi and a Vauxhall Astra.

A male in his 50s was assisted from the taxi by firefighters. He was suffering from minor head injuries.

Five females, thought to be in their 60s, were in the Vauxhall Astra. One was unharmed. Three were already out when firefighters arrived. They were given first aid by firefighters at the scene. One woman was assisted from the vehicle and was thought to be suffering from a suspected broken arm.

All the casualties were left in the hands of the ambulance service.

The road was closed while the incident was ongoing.
