Crews will have buckets, sponges and hoses at the ready on Saturday 30 July for a car wash in aid of two important causes.
Blue Watch Firefighter Tim Jones said: "We're really pleased to be running yet another charity car wash to support both The Firefighters’ Charity and a local Scout group’s mission to get to South Korea.
“I am one of the unit leaders of a Scout unit called ‘Avolution’ – Unit 75, we are a group of Scouts and Explorers who have been lucky enough to have been selected to go on a trip of a lifetime to South Korea next year for the 25th World Scout Jamboree. This will be a life-changing experience that will allow us to experience different cultures with scouts all over the world and will include activities that explore the deeper questions, such as how to make the world a better place, both in terms of peace and protection of the climate.
The Fire Fighters Charity provides support services and treatment to more than 13,500 serving and retired members of staff from UK fire and rescue services. It is run at a cost of £9 million a year and is entirely reliant on donations from the general public and fire community.
