You’re invited to AF&RS ‘Big Pride Breakfast’ on 9 July

Temple Fire Station will open its doors on the morning of Bristol Pride (9 July 2022) for a ‘Big Pride Breakfast’ in partnership with Yafo Authentic Falafel.

Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) will be kicking off Bristol Pride celebrations in style as Temple Fire Station welcomes local people and visitors to Bristol to enjoy a healthy wellbeing breakfast. The morning will offer those celebrating Pride a delicious start to what promises to be a fantastic Pride celebration, featuring a bike-powered juice bar, delicious authentic falafel as well as glitter, face paint and fun.

The event will start at 08:30am and is completely free to attend. All three emergency services – fire, police and ambulance – will be celebrating at the station and will be on hand to answer any questions about working for the services, giving you safety advice or simply joining you in getting glittered-up and ready for the parade.

After fuelling up at the Big Breakfast event, firefighters and staff will join the renowned Bristol Pride Parade alongside Avon and Somerset Police and the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) to show our support and celebrate with our communities.

Richard Stokes, Diversity, Inclusion, Cohesion and Equalities Manager at AF&RS, said: “Bristol Pride is a fantastic event that brings people from across our Service area together for a time of celebration. It’s the first full scale parade in a few years due to the pandemic, and I’m so pleased we’re able to come together once again to celebrate with our communities.

“As a Service, we are always looking for new ways to engage and reach members of the community that we might miss on a day-to-day basis so this is the perfect time to welcome people onto the station.

“Anyone is welcome on the day. Come along and chat to us about fire safety, our work in the community, or simply pop in for some great food and some fun and games! Feel free to come and have a look around the vehicles, roll out a fire hose or try on some breathing apparatus sets.”

If you spot us on the day, don’t forget to share your photos with us on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook and tag #PoweredByPride.
