Crews attend flat fire

Crews from Temple, Bedminster, Hicks Gate, Kingswood and Patchway were called to reports of a fire at 18:19.

On arrival crews found a small fire involving candles and furniture on the second floor.

Crews used one high pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire.

An electric fan was used for smoke clearance along with a gas monitor to check that the scene was safe.

The cause of the incident is thought to have been accidental ignition.

6,000 fires a year are caused by children under the age of 10.
