Fire caused by discarded cigarette

William Street, Bedminster
Crews from Bedminster and Temple fire stations were called to a fire in a first floor flat.
On arrival, two firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire.
They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.
Thirty one residents were evacuated and the cause is thought to be accidental due to a discarded cigarette.
