Packaging on hob causes kitchen fire

St Johns Lane, Bedminster

Crews from Bedminster and Temple fire stations attended a kitchen fire after a neighbour reported a smell of burning and could see smoke coming from a residential property.

On arrival firefighters discovered an item had been left on a hob which was switched on.

Two firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.

The cause is thought to be accidental and crews remained on site to provide safety advice to neighbours.
