Multiple crews tackle derelict building fire

Station Road, Henbury

Multiple firefighters from across the city were called to a deliberate fire in a derelict building – the third on the same road in just over a week.

Crews from Southmead, Temple, Bedminster and Avonmouth fire station were called to the incident that lasted for several hours.

Firefighters used two 45mm jets and a turntable ladder to extinguish the fire.

They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and a structural engineer was called to check the safety of the building.

Police were also in attendance and the cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate.
