One casualty led to safety by firefighters

Westgate Street, Bath

Three crews from Bath and two from Temple fire station were called to a fire in a commercial and residential property on Westgate Street in Bath.

Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure hose-reel and two 45mm jets to extinguish the fire.

They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building.

One casualty was led to safety by firefighters and left in the hands of paramedics.

The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
